The Punjab government has launched a new public relief program called “Maryam Ko Batain” to provide quick financial help to low-income and deserving families during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative has been introduced under the supervision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support citizens who are struggling with rising inflation and increasing household expenses.
Under the program, eligible families can receive financial assistance of up to Rs. 10,000 through a fast and straightforward process designed to make sure help reaches people on time during Ramadan. A special helpline — 1000 — will be activated from the first day of Ramadan, giving citizens facing financial hardship a direct way to contact authorities and apply for support.
To make the process as easy as possible, the government has also set up online registration options. People can apply through an official web portal or mobile application by simply entering their CNIC details. Families already registered under the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry are expected to receive the financial assistance within just 24 hours of verification, while new applicants may receive their aid within around four days once their information has been reviewed and confirmed.
Officials say the main goal of this initiative is to make sure that financially vulnerable households can manage their essential needs during Ramadan — including food, utility bills and other daily expenses — without added stress.
The program is part of Punjab government’s broader welfare strategy focused on getting direct and rapid relief to the people who need it most.
