The government has announced a reduction in petroleum prices, lowering the price of petrol by Rs. 4 per litre to Rs. 373.78 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs. 2 per litre to Rs. 378.78 per litre.
The latest revision comes amid fluctuations in international oil markets and exchange rate movements. Lower fuel prices are expected to provide some relief to consumers, transport operators, and businesses facing high operating costs.
Petrol is widely used by private vehicles, motorcycles, and small transport operators, while diesel plays a critical role in agriculture, logistics, and heavy transportation. The price adjustment may have a positive impact on transportation expenses and inflationary pressures in the coming weeks.
