The privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is reportedly entering its final phase, with the national carrier expected to be officially handed over to its new owners by the end of June 2026.
Officials say the transfer process is progressing according to schedule, following the completion of key regulatory and financial requirements. The move is part of the government’s broader efforts to restructure and revive the financially troubled airline.
The new ownership is expected to focus on improving operational efficiency, modernizing the fleet, enhancing customer services, and restoring the airline’s competitiveness in regional and international markets.
