Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a landmark initiative to distribute 50,000 tractors to farmers over the next three years, describing it as the largest tractor distribution program in Punjab’s history.
The initiative is aimed at modernizing agriculture, increasing farm productivity, and supporting small and medium-sized farmers through greater access to mechanized farming equipment. Officials say the program is expected to improve crop yields, reduce production costs, and strengthen Punjab’s agricultural sector.
The tractor scheme forms part of the provincial government’s broader strategy to promote agricultural development, enhance food security, and improve the livelihoods of farmers across Punjab.
