Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved Rs. 11 billion to support Pakistan’s preparations for hosting the South Asian Games, marking the country’s return as host after 22 years.
The funding will be used to upgrade sports infrastructure, renovate venues, and ensure the successful organization of the regional multi-sport event. Officials say the investment reflects the government’s commitment to promoting sports, developing athletic talent, and showcasing Pakistan’s capability to host major international sporting events.
The South Asian Games are expected to bring together athletes from across the region, strengthening regional sporting ties and boosting Pakistan’s sports profile.
