The Pakistan Airports Authority is planning a major high-rise development project in Islamabad that could significantly transform the capital’s skyline and become one of the tallest buildings in the city.

According to officials, the proposed aviation complex will be constructed in Islamabad’s Blue Area on a 9,000-square-yard plot and is expected to serve as a modern hub for aviation, commercial, and public services.

Modern Aviation Tower Planned for Islamabad Blue Area

The planned multi-storey complex will include offices for the Pakistan Airports Authority, airline headquarters, hotels, food courts, commercial outlets, and an aviation museum.

Authorities say the project is designed to modernize aviation infrastructure in Pakistan’s capital while creating a centralized location for airline operations and related services.

The mixed-use development is also expected to attract business activity, tourism, and investment to Islamabad’s commercial district.

Public Hearing Scheduled for May 18

Officials confirmed that a public hearing for the mega project is scheduled for May 18, allowing stakeholders and citizens to share feedback regarding the proposed construction.

The building proposal has already received initial approval from the Capital Development Authority, which cleared the project’s preliminary building plan.

Further details regarding the tower’s final design, height, and construction timeline are still under review.

Project Could Surpass Islamabad’s Current Tallest Buildings

Currently, the tallest structure in Islamabad is the under-construction Garden Residential Apartments, which stands at approximately 470 feet.

It is followed by Centaurus Mall, one of Islamabad’s most recognizable commercial towers, with a height of around 335 feet.

Although officials have not officially confirmed the final height of the proposed aviation complex, experts believe the new skyscraper could surpass existing high-rise buildings and become a landmark structure in the capital.

Major Boost for Urban Development and Aviation Sector

Urban development experts say the project could strengthen Islamabad’s modern infrastructure and support Pakistan’s growing aviation sector through improved facilities and centralized services.

The addition of hotels, commercial spaces, and public attractions within the complex is expected to make it a major business and tourism destination in the future.

If completed as planned, the aviation complex could become one of Pakistan’s most iconic modern buildings and a major symbol of architectural and commercial development in Islamabad.
