KP and Balochistan Relax Business Restrictions Ahead of Eid ul Adha 2026

The governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have announced major relaxations in business and market restrictions ahead of Eid ul Adha 2026, giving a welcome boost to commercial activity and making Eid shopping much easier for people across both provinces.

In Peshawar, the KP government officially withdrew its “smart lockdown” measures through an official notification issued by the Chief Secretary. Following the decision, all restrictions on shop timings and business operating hours have been completely lifted until further orders. This means markets and commercial centres across the province can now stay open without any fixed closing hours during the Eid shopping season.

Authorities, however, urged citizens and traders to use electricity responsibly and avoid unnecessary consumption as part of ongoing energy conservation efforts across the country.

In a separate announcement, the Balochistan Home Department also declared province-wide relaxation in restrictions for the Eid period. According to the notification, shops, markets, shopping malls and business centres across Balochistan will remain open without any restrictions until June 1 — giving traders and shoppers ample time to make the most of the festive season.

The easing of restrictions in both provinces follows similar measures introduced earlier by the Punjab government, which had also lifted business hour restrictions ahead of Eid. These steps come after the federal government’s energy conservation policy had earlier imposed limits on business operating hours nationwide to reduce electricity consumption across the country.
