Maryam Nawaz has directed administrative and police officers across Punjab to remain active in the field during Eid al-Adha instead of operating from offices, as part of efforts to improve security, cleanliness, and public service management during the holidays.

Officials have been instructed to maintain on-ground presence in different districts to ensure immediate response to public complaints, sanitation issues, and emergency situations throughout the Eid period.

Punjab Govt Announces Strict Eid Cleanliness Measures

The Punjab government has also announced fines of up to Rs. 50,000 for individuals found improperly disposing of sacrificial animal waste in:

  • Streets
  • Drains
  • Canals
  • Public spaces
  • Empty plots

Authorities say the move is aimed at improving public hygiene, reducing environmental pollution, and maintaining cleaner urban areas during Eid-ul-Adha, when large amounts of animal waste are generated.

Strict Monitoring of Cattle Markets and Civic Services

Officials have also been directed to:

  • Enforce regulations at designated cattle markets
  • Prevent illegal livestock trading in unauthorized areas
  • Ensure uninterrupted water supply
  • Maintain sanitation and waste collection services
  • Strengthen law and order arrangements

Special Eid monitoring operations are expected to continue across major cities and districts in Punjab.

Cyber Monitoring and Security Systems to Remain Active

According to authorities, cyber monitoring systems and security surveillance arrangements will remain operational during the Eid holidays to identify potential threats, misinformation, or emergency situations.

Government departments have been instructed to remain fully alert and prepared to handle:

  • Public complaints
  • Security concerns
  • Sanitation emergencies
  • Traffic management issues
  • Civic service disruptions

Govt Warns Against Negligence During Eid Operations

Officials warned that strict action could be taken against departments or officers showing negligence in carrying out Eid-related responsibilities.

The latest directives reflect the Punjab government’s broader efforts to improve:

  • Public convenience
  • Cleanliness management
  • Security coordination
  • Emergency response systems

during one of Pakistan’s busiest religious occasions.

Authorities believe stronger field monitoring and active administrative presence can help improve overall Eid management and reduce public problems across Punjab.
