Motorcyclist Injured by Hazardous Kite String
Rescue officials shifted the injured man to Mayo Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Doctors later confirmed that his condition had stabilized and that he was out of danger.
The incident has once again raised public safety concerns over the use of dangerous metallic and chemical-coated kite strings, commonly known as “dore,” which have caused multiple injuries and fatal accidents in different areas of Lahore over recent years.
Over 4,000 Arrests Made During Crackdown
Police officials stated that more than 4,000 individuals have been arrested so far this year during ongoing anti-kite flying operations across the provincial capital.
Authorities also reported recovering thousands of kites, string rolls, and spools allegedly linked to illegal kite flying activities. Raids have been conducted in several neighborhoods targeting manufacturers, suppliers, sellers, and individuals involved in the trade of hazardous kite strings.
Lahore Police Tighten Enforcement Measures
Senior police officials have directed law enforcement teams to strengthen monitoring and enforcement in sensitive areas throughout the city.
Police teams have additionally been instructed to remove dangerous kite strings from roads, bridges, electric poles, and public spaces to help reduce the risk of accidents involving motorcyclists and pedestrians.
Authorities emphasized that strict implementation of anti-kite flying laws remains necessary to improve public safety and prevent further incidents.

Experts and safety officials warn that metallic and chemical-coated kite strings can cause severe injuries, particularly to motorcyclists, pedestrians, and children.
The renewed anti-kite flying campaign reflects ongoing efforts by the government and law enforcement agencies to control illegal kite flying activities and reduce public safety risks in Lahore.
