The Punjab Government has imposed a ban on businesses charging customers for plastic bags as part of its efforts to strengthen environmental regulations and improve waste management practices.
Under the new directive, retailers and commercial establishments will no longer be allowed to collect separate charges for plastic bags. The move is aimed at promoting responsible business practices while supporting the province’s broader campaign to reduce plastic pollution and encourage the use of environmentally friendly alternatives.
Authorities have directed relevant departments to ensure compliance with the new policy and take action against violations.
