Punjab Police’s 1787 IGP Complaint Center is delivering meaningful results for citizens across the province, with more than 34,000 complaints successfully resolved so far during the current year alone.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, confirmed that all complaints received through the center are being addressed within the prescribed timelines in accordance with standard operating procedures. He added that the monitoring system has been made significantly more active to further improve the center’s overall performance and ensure no complaint goes unaddressed.
IG Punjab further revealed that District Police Officers are personally monitoring complaints received through the 1787 system to ensure their immediate and effective resolution — a step that reflects the seriousness with which Punjab Police is taking citizen grievances.
Key Complaints Resolved:
The Punjab Police spokesperson shared a detailed breakdown of the complaints that have been successfully resolved:
- 17,249 complaints related to registration of cases
- 8,270 complaints regarding delayed investigations
- 7,000+ departmental and other types of complaints
- 3,071 complaints related to recovery matters
- 2,547 complaints related to police services
- 1,781 complaints related to arrest of accused persons
- 1,646 complaints related to faulty investigations
- 865 complaints related to cancellation of false cases
- 537 complaints regarding change of investigation officer
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has encouraged all citizens to register complaints against police officials through the 1787 Complaint Center without any hesitation or fear, assuring that prompt and transparent action will be taken on every grievance received.
