25 Sacrificial Goats Worth Rs 1.9 Million Stolen in Karachi

25 sacrificial goats worth more than Rs 1.9 million were stolen from Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area late at night, with the thieves loading the animals into a mini-truck before fleeing the scene, police and the owner confirmed on Sunday.

The incident took place between Friday and Saturday night in Block 8-A of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where the goats had been tied at an open plot ahead of Eid ul Adha.

According to police, the suspects first arrived on motorcycles and in a car, then loaded all the goats into a mini-truck and quickly drove away. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, clearly showing the suspects taking the animals away.

The owner, Muhammad Osama Khan, said the stolen goats were worth over Rs 1.9 million and had been brought to Karachi specifically for sale during the Eid ul Adha season.

A theft case has been registered at Malir Cantt police station. Police officials said they are actively working to trace and arrest the suspects using the available CCTV footage and videos, while further investigation into the incident is ongoing.

This is not an isolated case. Thefts of sacrificial animals have become an increasingly common trend in cities across Pakistan in the weeks leading up to Eid ul Adha in recent years.
