Pakistan has issued visas to 737 Sikh pilgrims from India, allowing them to travel to Pakistan and participate in an annual religious festival scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 19.
According to the Pakistan High Commission in India, the visas were granted to Sikh yatrees who will attend various religious events and ceremonies across Pakistan during the 10-day celebrations. The pilgrims will visit designated religious sites where they will take part in rituals, prayers and community gatherings that hold deep spiritual significance for the Sikh community.
Officials confirmed that the visa issuance reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to facilitating religious tourism and its dedication to promoting interfaith harmony and meaningful cultural exchange between the two neighboring countries.
The annual religious festival provides an important opportunity for Sikh pilgrims from India to reconnect with their sacred heritage sites located in Pakistan — sites that hold centuries of history and profound religious importance for Sikhs around the world. Pakistan’s facilitation of these visits has long been seen as a positive and humanitarian gesture that rises above political tensions to honor the spiritual needs of a religious community.
