Pakistan is set to launch a passport home delivery service starting July 1 — a major step toward making government services more convenient and citizen-friendly across the country.
The announcement was made by Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa during a visit to various passport sections, where he personally met with citizens, listened to their complaints and directed officials to resolve grievances on the spot.
Randhawa confirmed that courier companies have been instructed to ensure timely and secure delivery of passports under strict compliance measures. He added that the home delivery system will operate in a fully transparent manner, sparing citizens the frustration of repeated visits to passport offices and standing in long queues.
The DG emphasized that providing fast, efficient and citizen-friendly passport services remains a top priority for the government, and that further reforms are already in the pipeline.
Digital Payment Options Coming Too
In a separate development, Randhawa met with NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar, where both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions to improve public services.
The meeting resulted in a significant decision — the introduction of QR code-based payment options through JazzCash, EasyPaisa and 1LINK, allowing citizens to pay their passport fees digitally without having to visit a bank or office.
Officials confirmed that this initiative is part of broader government efforts to expand digital services across all departments. The meeting also covered administrative matters and ongoing digital transformation work at NADRA headquarters.
Randhawa additionally reviewed progress on speeding up the data entry process and assessed the department’s wider development agenda, noting that work on digitizing passport fee payments had already been underway ahead of this latest round of reforms.
