Mobilink Bank, one of Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance banks, has launched the “BiBi App,” a mobile application focused on breast cancer awareness and women’s health education in Pakistan.
The health-tech initiative aims to provide women with accessible, reliable, and culturally relevant health information through a user-friendly digital platform available in both Urdu and English.
BiBi App Developed to Improve Women’s Health Awareness
The BiBi App was developed by Aangan, a women-focused health startup and incubatee of Mobilink Bank’s Women Inspirational Network (WIN) Incubator program.
The application is designed for women between the ages of 18 and 55, particularly those living in urban, peri-urban, and semi-rural communities where access to health awareness resources remains limited.
According to healthcare experts, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Pakistan, with approximately 1 in 9 women considered at risk. Limited awareness, social stigma, and delayed diagnosis continue to be major healthcare challenges across the country.
Digital Health Platform Focuses on Early Detection and Prevention
The BiBi App provides easy-to-understand information about breast cancer prevention, early detection, symptoms, and health awareness to help women make informed healthcare decisions.
Officials confirmed that the medical information included in the application has been reviewed and verified by Shifa International Hospital.
The initiative represents Mobilink Bank’s first dedicated health-tech project aimed at supporting women’s healthcare awareness through digital innovation and technology-driven social impact.
Mobilink Bank Expands Women Empowerment Initiatives
The launch event in Islamabad was attended by diplomats, healthcare experts, policymakers, development organizations, and industry leaders supporting women’s health awareness and digital inclusion in Pakistan.
Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, stated that real empowerment begins with access to knowledge, healthcare awareness, and informed decision-making.
He said the BiBi App uses digital innovation to improve health literacy, promote early breast cancer detection, and make essential healthcare information more accessible for women across Pakistan.
WIN Incubator Supports Women-Led Startups in Pakistan
Through its Women Inspirational Network (WIN) program, Mobilink Bank continues to support women-led startups and technology-driven social initiatives in Pakistan.
The WIN Incubator has already graduated 31 women-led startups, while the recently launched National Incubation Centre in Sialkot is expected to further strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities for women.
The launch of the BiBi App highlights the growing role of digital technology, fintech, and health-tech solutions in addressing social and healthcare challenges faced by women in Pakistan.
