Pakistan is witnessing the longest day and shortest night of the year today as the Summer Solstice occurs in the Northern Hemisphere.
The astronomical event marks the moment when the Earth’s Northern Hemisphere is tilted closest to the Sun, resulting in the maximum number of daylight hours. Following the solstice, days will gradually begin to shorten while nights will become longer as the region moves toward autumn and winter.
The Summer Solstice is observed every year around June 20 or 21 and is considered an important astronomical event worldwide.
