Karachi is experiencing intense heatwave conditions, with the city’s feels-like temperature reaching a blistering 54°C due to a combination of high temperatures and humidity levels. The heat index, which reflects how hot the weather feels to the human body, has risen to dangerous levels, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Health authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak daytime hours, and take precautions against heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and outdoor workers, are being urged to exercise extra caution.
The extreme weather conditions come as several parts of Pakistan continue to experience severe heatwave activity, prompting warnings from meteorological and health officials.
