The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has officially announced the launch of the Pakistan National League (PNL) — the country’s first ever professional franchise-based volleyball competition — marking a historic milestone for the sport in Pakistan.
The inaugural edition of the league will be held from July 19 to August 5, 2026, in Lahore, featuring six franchises. Each team will include a mix of international players and top domestic talent, bringing a high level of competition to Pakistani volleyball for the very first time.
Inspired by successful professional league models from around the world, PVF believes the PNL will open a completely new chapter for volleyball in Pakistan — raising the level of professionalism, building stronger fan engagement and creating real career opportunities for Pakistani athletes.
A Packed 2026 Calendar
The league is part of PVF’s ambitious and action-packed 2026 schedule, which includes several major domestic and international events throughout the year.
The season will kick off with the 55th National Men’s Volleyball Championship, scheduled from May 19 to 23 at the Pakistan Ordnance Factory in Wah Cantt. Sixteen leading provincial and departmental teams from across the country will compete for the national title.
Pakistan will also host the Central Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship from July 3 to 10 in Lahore, featuring teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Nepal. As an officially recognized world ranking event, the championship is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s position in Asian volleyball and showcase the country’s ability to host major international sporting events.
Pakistan Teams on the International Stage
Pakistan’s national teams are set for a busy international year in 2026. The U18 team will compete in the AVC Boys’ U18 Championship in Bahrain in July, while the U17 side will take part in the FIVB Boys’ U17 World Championship in Doha in August — having already qualified through a gold medal-winning performance at the Asian U16 Championship.
The senior men’s team will represent Pakistan at the prestigious Asian Games in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
PVF officials said the packed 2026 schedule reflects the federation’s long-term vision of promoting volleyball across the country, developing young talent from the grassroots level and firmly establishing Pakistan as a major force in regional and international volleyball.
